I thought about this topic while reading Patriots the novel; the cover always irritated the hell out of me because it shows a guy in ACU pattern clothing; while the book they specifically chose the British DPM as it was a good woodland pattern, but different enough from regular and overly common woodland camo as to keep their personnel separate from any other people likely to wander through their area.
